Mr. B and an article:
People are crazy. That is all I am going to say. Diving down and getting the new world record for the longest dive is cool, yes it is very cool, but its 300 feet! People do it for the adrenaline but there are other ways! Of course it is their choice to do this but come on. It is a good thing they take super big precautions because they would be dead if they didn't. If you are going to try anything crazy, take precautions! That is all I ask.
Bunnies have feelings, and they know what you say. When you see a pink bunny do not be a coward! Ask it to tea!

Parents with autistic kids pay attention. New study shows that some apps on a tablet and other touch screen helps them connect to the world. This new app has categories and pictures that have feelings and food and all other daily activities that they can click on. An iPad also draws their attention into it. It allows teachers to connect with the kids; allows them to know what they want and feel. Parents see a little light at the end of the tunnel for speech. I recommend using the iPad if you have an autistic sibling or child, at least try it, it can't exactly hurt.

Cody Rye had a dream. His dream was to play football. His dream made it hard to deal with the fact that he was paralyzed. A head on car crash had broken his spine and made it impossible to walk. Eventually he made it into a team in his sophomore year, he became one of the best defenders they had, but Cody wanted to be on offence, he wanted to catch the ball. In his senior year he finally got that chance. With three seconds left on the clock, Cody caught the final throw. He didn't score a touchdown but he caught the ball, and that is what mattered. Codys' dream finally came true.

Boxer Francisco "Paco" Rodriguez had dreams of being a hero before suffering fatal injuries during a title fight in Philadelphia. To his wife Sonia, one way to make him a hero was to donate his organs. His kidneys, heart, lungs and liver all went to people who would have no freedom or would die in the next few days. Paco became the hero he wanted to be by helping these 4 women. Paco was pronounced dead at 7:42 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009. That same night Paco was pronounced a hero. He left behind a family who cared deeply about him, and a 15 month old baby girl.

Patrick Willis had to grow up fast. His father claims he was never abusive but to Patrick and his younger siblings he was. His father did drugs and would beat them if they ever won a basketball game or anything. Patrick engrossed himself into sports. They finally went to their high schools guidance councilor. They didn't want to split up the teens and when they walked into that new foster family Patrick became a kid again. He could play out in the snow and he could bring home a girlfriend. Everything was different. Patrick Willis is a pro-football player and some believe it was because of his father. He wanted to show him that he could over come and become something great.Patrick says it was his choice to do whatever he wanted, and that is what matters.

Suicide is a big problem in the world. About one in five teens will contemplate suicide. About the same will actually commit suicide.

Timothy Ray Brown was diagnosed with AIDS in the 1990s. He had leukemia and AIDS and got a bone marrow transplant and now he has no AIDS or leukemia. This worked because most people are actually immune to the HIV. By taking some of their bone marrow they can actually "cure" the virus. Timothy Ray Brown is the first man to be "cured". I put cure in quotes because this could just be a one time thing. They haven't done any real testing yet, but they do plan to start more testing this year.

In South Africa, to be a women is to be a target. Corrective rape is what is happening. A lot of women are openly lesbian, and for some reason some men beat them until they are unconscious and rape them. Corrective rape is by definition, raping a gay or lesbian to punish them for their opposition. About 80% believe that being a lesbian or being a gay is wrong. Men believe that it is wrong and unnatural to be a lesbian. We need to learn that our children are our children and we must except their choice. " A woman is a woman, a man is a man", you shouldn't have to change. "The police don't do their job". Says a victim of corrective rape. One case escalated to brutally gang-raping her and then stabbing her and ditching her body into the river near her home. To some, corrective rape is just a hate crime, but it goes much further than just hate crime. The thing is, in some towns they don't have laws against hate crimes, so nothing can be done about it. Some people get justice, but some still don't get justice and must live in the town the person that did this to her.

The SAT is one of the most important tests that a high school will ever take. $1,100 is what some students will pay Sam Eshaghoff to get the "perfect score". Sam has taken the SAT 16 times ( that he has told people about). More than 50 students have been arrested on fraud charges in three different New York districts. Sam knows he did the wrong thing and wouldn't do it again. About three million ids take the SAT, about 99% take it honestly. There are always consequences for your actions, do something wrong/criminal and you will be caught.

December, 2007 the recession started. Some kids in Florida are now living in trucks and cars. Living in a car or truck is not good for children. Their health deteriorates but they keep the faith and hope that they can someday move out of their car. One-third of the jobless and homeless are living in Florida. Most parents are terrified about losing their families. They say that, "if Florida police find you living in a car, they will take the kids away and put them in the system". This is what scares parents most about being homeless. When you step into their shoes it is a different world. They will keep the faith, why shouldn't we help them?

With New Year comes fireworks and gun shots. It is a great way to celebrate the season and the holiday but what about the wildlife? In Beebe, Arkansas this happened. Fireworks went off and terrified the red wing black birds. Many of them went flying from their roosts. They ended up flying into houses, trees and even each other. More than 100 red winged black birds lay dead on lawns and roads. Wildlife workers spent a good deal of New Year day picking up the birds. The lesson we can learn from this is, be careful and contemplate surroundings.

We are getting closer to Max as we speak. Losing a bunny takes its toll but we will make it. At least we can hear Max screaming from where we are. This is to many dark tunnels...
